Beginning as a student of French language and literature, writer-director Rusudan Glurjidze moved on to the screenwriting and film directing program at the Georgian State Film and Theatre Institute. Her first feature, House of Others (2017), premiered in the East of the West competition at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, taking home the Grand Prix and becoming Georgia’s candidate in the 89th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Antonella Sudasassi Furniss
Antonella Sudasassi Furniss is a Costa Rican writer, director, and producer. Her first film, The Awakening of the Ants, premiered at the Berlinale 2019. The film was selected as the Costa Rican entry for the Academy Awards, and it became the first Central American film to receive a Goya Award nomination, and to win a Platino Award. It was selected for more than 65 international film festivals and received 15 international awards. Memorias de un cuerpo que arde (Memories of a Burning Body in English) is her second film.
Andreas Öhman
Andreas Öhman, born 1985, is a writer-director from northern Sweden. After making several award-winning short films, he made his first feature in 2010 – Simple Simon. The film was nominated for several Guldbaggen (Swedish Film Awards) and shortlisted as Best Foreign Language Feature at the Oscars in 2011. Since then, he has written and directed four feature films, including Bitch Hug (2012), Remake (2014), and Odödliga (2015), as well as his latest, One Day All This Will Be Yours (2023).
