Un Poeta

De Colombiaanse dichter Oscar Restrepo ziet in de talentvolle tiener Yurlady een kans op de erkenning die hemzelf altijd is ontgaan. Terwijl hij haar carrière probeert te sturen, wordt hij steeds meer geconfronteerd met zijn eigen mislukkingen. Deze rauwe en geestige satire won de juryprijs in Un Certain Regard op het Filmfestival van Cannes.

Simón Mesa Soto

Simón Mesa Soto (Medellín, 1986) is a Colombian director and screenwriter. He studied Audiovisual Communication at the Universidad de Antioquia, where he also taught film editing, before moving to the UK to complete an MA in Filmmaking at the London Film School in 2014.

His graduation film Leidi won the Short Film Palme d’Or at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and the Gold Hugo for Best Short at the 2015 Chicago International Film Festival. His next short, the Swedish-Colombian co-production Madre, was also selected for competition at Cannes in 2016.

His feature debut, Un poeta (2025), won the Special Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes and the Horizontes Latinos Award at the San Sebastián Film Festival. It was also selected by the Colombian Academy as Colombia’s submission for the Academy Awards and the Goya Awards.

Cutting Through Rocks

Cutting Through Rocks vertelt het verhaal van Sara Shaverdi. Zij is het eerste vrouwelijke raadslid van haar dorp op het Iraanse platteland. Haar beloftes: kindhuwelijken inperken en onderwijs voor meisjes garanderen, maar ook de zo vurig gewenste gasaansluiting voor het dorp regelen. Geen gemakkelijke opgave in een land waar vrouwen worden achtergesteld en veel op ondemocratische wijze wordt besloten.

Sara Khaki & Mohammadreza Eyni

Sara Khaki is an Oscar nominated documentary director, producer, and editor dedicated to telling stories around women empowerment and gender equality. Sara is Sundance Grand Jury Award winner for her feature documentary Cutting Through Rocks, which has also received a nomination from Directors Guild of America (DGA).

Mohammadreza Eyni is an Oscar-nominated director, producer, and cinematographer. He won the Sundance Grand Jury Award for Cutting Through Rocks and was named one of the five best cinematographers at Sundance 2025. His work has received recognition at numerous international film festivals.

 

Wind, Talk to Me

Wind, Talk to Me is een intiem, autobiografisch drama waarin fictie en documentaire op natuurlijke wijze in elkaar overvloeien. De film was aanvankelijk bedoeld als een documentaire over de moeder van regisseur Stefan Đorđević, maar wanneer zij overlijdt, verlegt hij zijn focus naar zijn hele familie.

Stefan Djordjevic

Stefan Djordjevic (1987, Serbia) studied at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, earning both his BA and MA. His short films A Handful of Stones (2017) and The Last Image of Father (2019) screened and received awards at numerous international film festivals. His documentary Portrait of a Dying Giant (2023) was presented at the Venice Biennale of Architecture. In 2025, he made his feature debut with Wind, Talk to Me. He has also exhibited his photography in Belgrade, including A Diary of Mom (2020), created with his brother Bosko Djordjevic.

Minotaur

De succesvolle Russische bedrijfsleider Gleb voelt enorme interne druk door de onstabiele wereldsituatie. Hij staat op het punt zijn werknemers te ontslaan. Andrey Zvyagintsev

Multi-award winning filmmaker Andrey Zvyagintsev has already become one of the most respected directors in Russian and international cinema. He directed his first feature film in 2003 The Return which won a Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. He has continued to write and direct films: the award-winning feature films The Banishment (2007), which premiered in competition at the Festival de Cannes and won the Best Actor Award, Elena (2011) that got the Un Certain Regard Special Jury Prize and Leviathan (2014) which brought him Best Screenplay award in Cannes, both Golden Globe and Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language Film nominees. His most recent film Loveless won the Jury Prize at the 2017 Festival de Cannes, and was among the nominees for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globe and 90th Academy Awards.

Casas’ films have been screened and awarded in festivals around the world, like the Venice Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Buenos Aires International Film Festival, Mexico International Film Festival, FID Marseille, etc. His work has been exhibited and performed in international art institutions and galleries, such as Tate Modern, London, Fondation Cartier, Palais de Tokyo, Centre Pompidou, Paris, Hangar Bicocca, Milan, CCCB Barcelona, GAM Torino, Bozar Bruxelles, among others.
